Information processing. The Processing Data
step focuses on pre-processing of data. Data is
cleaned from unnecessary elements and checked
considering quality and completeness. The Mining
Data step is concerned with processing of data using
defined patterns (e.g., activities of people living or
staying in the same city). Data mining algorithms are
used in order to discover such hidden patterns and
obtain relevant knowledge. The Evaluating
Knowledge step is used to check whether the
acquired knowledge is relevant. Errors are
recognized and eliminated to improve the overall
information processing. Possibly, new patterns are
defined and old patterns are enhanced in the
Defining Patterns step and the pre-processing of
data in the Processing Data step is fine-tuned based
on the feedback from the Evaluating Knowledge
step.
