In addition to the meridional canals, there are two lateral paragastric canals, which arise from the funnel and extend down the middle of the broad sides of the animal. There is no axial funnel-tube, but instead there are two lateral tubes which extend upward from the funnel to the two halves of the pole plate. Each of these tubes opens by an excretory pore on alternate opposite sides of the figure “8” shaped pole-plate. The sense organ at the aboral pole is not fringed with a row of long-branched papillae (Fig. 5C). The aboral end is rounded, while the oral end is almost straight and can be wider than the body width.
