The bulk of the maturity data used for comparison to our SP results were derived from studies conducted in the 1980s and early 1990s(see Table 1) so exploitation levels and environmental con- ditions have had multiple generations on which to impose selective forces. The discrepanciesbetween our SPdata and existing maturity data suggest the need for a systematic revision of lobster maturity(see Waddy and Aiken, 2005) to provide updated data stock assessment models.
