Even though this episode has nothing to do with Valentine’s Day, something about seeing the gang together and working their Shinsengumi magic still kinda makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
Context: Ibuki had had enough of Serizawa-san. When he saw he wasn’t getting his way in their latest argument, Ibuki ran away from home and took to living on the streets.
Having been absent from school for a whole week under the pretense of illness, the gang gets worried and pays a visit to Serizawa to check on Ibuki. After learning what really happened and that Serizawa had slated Ibuki for expulsion from the academy, they frantically comb the city for their friend. They eventually find him outside the train station and convince him to make amends.
Note: As in Reimeiroku, Ibuki’s route focuses more on the dynamics of the Shinsengumi rather than romance.

As we went through the gate of Serizawa-san’s house, we could hear loud voices coming from the garden.
Kondo: Serizawa-san. Could I have you rethink the matter with Ibuki-kun?
Serizawa: Hmph. Even if you canceled his expulsion and made him go to school nothing would change. It’s a waste of time.
Kondo: I have a suggestion for that. Might you allow me to restore the Shieikan[1] once more?
Serizawa: What would you do by restoring that run-down dojo?
Kondo: I want to restore the Shieikan because I believe that our school, no, this current generation has a need for its teachings.
Kondo: “Be a proud warrior.” Especially now, I want to teach this to Ibuki-kun, no, to all of today’s young people.
Kondo: At the Shieikan, we study being a warrior through mastering the way of the sword.
Kondo: The way of the sword is one that values propriety and loyalty, and that sincerely disciplines both mind and body.
Kondo: Also, those who walk the same path work diligently together as friends and rivals to improve each other… Those are the teachings of the Shieikan.
Kondo: Would you please entrust Ibuki-kun to me, no, to the Shieikan? Please!
After saying this, Kondo-sensei bowed very deeply.
Serizawa: …
Serizawa-san, who had been watching intently, began speaking in a low voice when Kondo-sensei raised his head.
Serizawa: In order for the inexperienced to proceed forward, their predecessors must open a path and lead them.
Serizawa: However, today’s young people think that that path being there is a given.
Serizawa: It should not be sufficient to mindlessly follow the rules decided by adults.
Serizawa: Kondo-kun. The Shieikan’s teachings can be seen as old-fashioned in this generation.
Serizawa: However, it may have what it is today’s generation is forgetting…
Kondo: Then…can I have you leave Ibuki-kun to me?
Serizawa: That and this are separate topics.
Serizawa: You should have already heard about the expulsion from Harada.
Serizawa: It’s something [Ibuki] will think about and decide. Until then, it’s useless to interfere.
Ibuki-kun, who had been with us until then, rushed over to the two of them.
Ibuki: Se-Serizawa-san!
Serizawa: What is it, dog? You still have some business with me?
Ibuki: Serizawa-san… I know I impulsively quit kendo and promised I would never take it up again.
Ibuki: But now I get it. I didn’t listen to what you were saying, and just decided that while we were bickering…
After saying this, Ibuki-kun faced Serizawa-san with corrected posture, then began to bend the top half of his body.
