Implementation
New Zealand's government has demarcated over 30 percent of the country as national park lands. The Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry for the Environment run the Environmentally Sustainable Tourism Project, the machine that drives sustainable tourism in New Zealand. The project holds the country's six regions, Northland, Rotorua, Bay of Plenty, Nelson, Lake Wanaka and Southland, accountable for their environmental policies, and funnels funds to them from the 2010 Tourism Strategy Fund to aid environmentally oriented practices.
