The northern rail line to Chiang Mai will runs through this mountainous region before going to longest rail tunnel in the country, which is 1,352 meters long. It takes five minutes to traverse. The mountain has an abundant jungle including pinery. Many tourists choose to walk from the Khun Than Station up the mountain at a 900-meter-distance to reach the national park center. Visitors must provide their own food if they want to camp overnight. The best time to visit here is between November and February when the weather is clear and cool.
