The basis of the structure is the fixed wall plate(panel c in the draw-ings). Make up the other main support by joining the two panels labeled E.
For a neat finish, dowel joint them as shown, or groove them and fit a loose tongue.
This needs considerable ac-curacy so that the finished panel is straight.
As an effective, though less attractive, alternative you can butt joint the two sides and reinforce the joint with a strip of plywood cut from the waste.
Lay the wall plate (C) out on the floor and butt the table top (A) and benches (B) up to it in the close.
Fit the hinges as shown in the drawing.
Make sure all the pieces fit square to one another.
Mark 12mm in from the ends of the benches and table top.
Use this as a guide to attach the end frame (E),using seven more 100mm butt hinges.
You will have to open the table by lifting the wall plate in order to fit the benches to the end frame.
You will now be able to make the table stand up against the wall.
Check that everything is square and mark the fitted position of the wall plate on the wall.
Follow by unscrewing the wall plate from the rest of the assembly to make it easy to fit it to the wall
Drill the wall plate and the wall, and screw the plate in place using plastic or fiber wall plugs.
Screw the rest of the assembly back in place then make sure that it opens and closes smoothly, and also that it sits squarely in position.
Mark the top point of the table in the closed position.
Make up the catch as shown from three pieces of waste plywood and fit this in place over the marked joint.
Do not tighten the centre screw fully home, so that you can easily rotate the catch.
Fit the bench supports (D) to the mid - point of the undersides of the benches.
You should add the folding stays shown in the drawing to ensure that the supports stay locked down.
The wood must be finished to seal and protect it, but the choice the choice is up to you and can be based what blends in best with your colour scheme.
Leave it plain and lacquer it, finish with stain or gloss paint.
You could even paint or stencil a pattern on it or cover with a laminate.
Be sure to match the décor of the rest of your dining room or kitchen for best effect.
