remains poorlyevaluated.ThepossibleeffectsofdifferentsizedAgNPs(20,30–60, 70–120and150nm
diameter) onjasminerice, Oryza sativa L. cv. KDML 105, wereinvestigatedatdifferentconcentrations
(0.1,1,10,100and1000mg/L)uponseedgerminationandseedlinggrowth.Theresultsrevealedthatthe
level ofseedgerminationandsubsequentgrowthofthoseseedlingsthatgerminatedwereboth
decreased withincreasingsizesandconcentrationsofAgNPs.BasedontheanalysisofAgNPs
accumulation inplanttissues,itimpliedthatthehigheruptakewasfoundwhentheseedsweretreated
with thesmallerAgNPs,20nmdiameterAgNPs,butitwastrappedintherootsratherthantransported
to theleaves.Theseresultedinthelessnegativeeffectsonseedlinggrowth,whencomparedtotheseed
soaking withthelargerAgNPswith150nmdiameter.ThenegativeeffectsofAgNPsweresupportedby
leaf celldeformationwhenriceseedsweretreatedwith150-nm-diameterAgNPattheconcentrationof
10or100mg/Lduringseedgermination.Theseresultsfurtherstrengthenourunderstandingof
