National ownership constraint will be removed because other
industries become more internationalized in their ownership. More and
more states will abandon this commercial constraint either through
bilateral or multilateral. Airline ownership will become increasingly
multinational rather than national.
According to experiences in US domestic market, the winner was not
low-cost new entrants but large airlines which was successful in exploiting
the marketing benefits of large scale and spread.
Global network could create not only marketing benefit but also help
them in reducing distribution and sales costs. The airline market will
increasingly be combinated by a few global alliances or megacarriers
together with their partners and franchises. And All of major airlines will
be privatized and multinationally owned. Concentration will gradually
give way to consolidation.
