Example of the General Inductive Approach
In a qualitative evaluation of consumers’ reports on their experiences with primary health
care services in New Zealand, researchers collected consumers’ accounts of their experiences
using face-to-face, telephone, and focus group interviews (Kerse et al., 2004). Aprimary objective
of the evaluation was to identify attributes of health care and encounters with health care
providers that are considered important by consumers. Part of the interview schedule included
