The objectives of this research were to study the utilization of dictation exercises for English
writing skillsdevelopment of students to approach the university criteria, and to study the satisfaction
towards studying English of students after using dictation exercises.
The sample for this research consisted of 40 students who took ENG 122 (English II). The
instruments used were (1) Lesson plans, (2) English writing skills test, (3) Six dictation exercises, and
(4) Students’ satisfaction questionnaires towards studying English.
