For each respondent we generated two measures of nature dose for both private gardens and public green spaces, two settings in which experiences with nature are common. Frequency was estimated based on the respondent’s self-reportedusual frequency of use of their private garden or of visits to public green spaces, and duration was estimated based on self-reportedtotal time spent within each location during the week of the survey. Given the more frequent use of private gardens indicated from preliminary survey outcomes, more categories were used at the finer time scale. For all duration measures, the mid-points of the selected categories for all public green space visits were summed. All four measures of nature dose were treated as ordinal.
