On the telephone
- A couple call to reserve a table for two near the door at 7 p.m. They always have dinner here every week.
At the restaurant
- A server greet a couple and ask them to wait for the table
- No table available for 30 minutes
- Their booking has been cancelled in the reservation book
- A server apologize to them and tell manager
- A manager apologize to them and admit to restaurant’s mistake
- Suggest drink in bar. Offer to bring menus through
- Offer to serve starters in bar
- Offer free bottle of wine as apology
