For sixteen-year-old Hope, it's always been just her and Aunt Addie. Addie is a diner cook who's been everywhere and seen everything, which means that Hope has been her fair share of places too, and that's not always easy when you are growing up. Their latest move is taking them from New York City to a tiny town in Wisconsin. Not exactly Hope's idea of fun. Before she knows it though, Hope finds herself somewhat attracted to one of the cooks at the diner, campaigning in a heated mayoral race, and on the verge of finding the father figure she has been missing in her life.
