Effective management of garbage is a growing problem in developing communities. This study focuses on results from a public engagement process about garbage management in the Ban Komo 26 Nai community in Yala province. The focus of the study was to identify aspirational models for effective management of garbage in the community. Additionally, this study investigates the relationship between participation in garbage management and knowledge about waste. A mixed methods study approach was used including both quantitative and qualitative methods. Chi-square analysis was completed for quantitative analysis. A seven-point framework outlining a model approach for garbage management was identified. Proposals for further research and applied solutions are identified.
