In this review there were limited studies that tested interventions to promote breastfeed in the WIC populations In this review there were limited studies that tested interventions to promote breastfeed in the WIC populations However the following findings were related to interventions that have been used in the WIC population with some success Landau found the successful increase in breastfeed with in the WIC population is attributed partly to improved communication channels between hospital lactation staff and WIC staff through the formation of New York city breastfeed leadership council Landau also noted that they now have funding for breastfeed coordinators breastfeed peer counselor programs and breast-pump programs along with various innovative programs that were introduced such as lactation clinics breastfed babies and toddlers play group and breastfeed mom club Perhaps devoting more WIC program resources to promoting breastfeed as described by Landau may be effective in other states
