Acid Rain
Acid rain comes from the emission of sulphur and nitrogen oxides by coal-fired power stations, heavy industry factories, and motor vehicles. The chemicals change in the atmosphere and they fall back to Earth as sulphuric and nitric acid in rain, mist and snow. These acids kill wildlife animals, forests, and they eat away and destroy buildings and cities. More than 50% of the acid rain in Canada comes from the U.S..
