The US$ 750,000(24.6million bath) Chiangmai Golf Classic tees off this morning at Alpine Golf Resort in the Rose City. The most-watched golfer at the Asian Tour event is likely to be the sensational young Korean Noh Seung-yul. Defending champion Scott Hend of Australia says he is hitting the ball further than last year, which also could be a treat to watch. The favoured Thai is Prom Meesawat , rapidly regaining form and poise.

Hundred- year war
The office of the Narcotics Control Board predicted that it won’t win the war on drugs in the next five years, either. But it has a five-year plan to fight. And so does yet another four-nation committee from Thailand, Laos Myanmar and china. It will centre its anti-drug operations along the Mekong River because that’s where the smuggling is. The last time that committee met, nine Thai police, apparently working for the smugglers, were arrested for killing Chinese boatmen. And China simply walked into Myanmar, arrested the only top-drawer drug trafficker they had managed to track down in two decades, and executed him.
In the meantime, the smuggling will continue because Myanmar refuses to pursue traffickers who help its economy.

Impeachment
Students whine about struggling with War and Peace(1,456pages).People complained no one ever would understand ObamarCare (906pages).The entire long-winded and detailed 2007 constitution was 185 pages. But the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC)
Released its summary (!) investigation report in to the nefariousdoing to Pheu Thai’s ex-speaker nikomWairatpanij and Somsak Kiatsuranon, and it was 4,000 pages long. And it got no love from the National Legislative Assembly, not even a word of appreciation for all the typing. The NLA is not doing impeachment right now, at least not for another two weeks when Ms Cruella na Bung Kum’s case comes up. Nevertheless, red shirts protested mildly that the NLA was event talking about it.
