Ladislav Čurda obtained an MS degree in 1980 from the Institute of Chemical Technology Prague (ICTP), the Czech Republic (CR), and a PhD degree in 1985 from the ICTP, CR. He was employed by the Dairy Research Institute in Prague (CR) until 1992 where he worked on the technology of preparation of dairy starters and on the introduction of automated method of bacterial counting (Bactoscan) in evaluation of milk quality in the CR. He was hired at the ICTP, at the Department of Dairy, Fat and Cosmetics in 1992 where he is currently employed as Associate Professor working as the head of the dairy research group. He has more than 30 years of experience in dairy chemistry, microbiology, and technology research and has conducted research which is currently focused on membrane processes, whey and colostrum processing. He has authored/coauthored over 50 publications. He has been a member of the Czech Chemical Society since 1983 and the Czech Society of Chemical Engineering since 2004.
