15 and data presented in the examples how to test any second (potentially contaminating) microbe for how ไม่สามารถทนรับได้ it is to said microbial growth inhibitor, and thereby which exact concentration of said microbial growth inhibitor is needed in the media to inhibit การเพิ่มจำนวน (growth) of said second microbe. Therefore, knowledge and methods are available to test the ability of a first (oil producing microbe) to
20 outgrow contaminating second microbes under conditions where the medium ประกอบรวมด้วย a microbial growth inhibitor, in amounts as defined in this application, or as defined by experiments such as those described in the examples section.
ทนรับได้ therefore means that the ทนรับได้ microbe is able to outgrow the ไม่สามารถทนรับได้ microbe in the presence of the microbial growth inhibitor.
25 The range of การทนรับได้ is thus the concentration range of a certain microbial inhibitor
within which a particular first microbe is capable of proliferating and producing oil at a level which does not differ more than 50 % from the level of การเพิ่มจำนวน or production when the microbial growth inhibitor is not present in the media.
As can be seen from the methods and data presented in the examples, the range of
30 การทนรับได้ can easily be determined using these methods. Likewise, "outside the range of การทนรับได้" of the second microbe simply means that using the methods described in the examples, the skilled person may determine if a concentration of a microbial growth inhibitor is outside the range of การทนรับได้ of a certain second microbe. Being outside the range of การทนรับได้ means that such concentration of a microbial growth inhibitor inhibits growth or การเพิ่มจำนวน of said second microbe by at least 20 %, such as at least 30%, or 40%, or at least 50% when compared to the same media without said microbial growth inhibitor.
Monitoring the concentration of the microbial growth inhibitor and subsequently
5 adjusting the concentration of said microbial growth inhibitor in a reactor during growth or production may be needed, as some microorganisms will cause either an increase or a decrease in the concentrations of e.g. สารประกอบฟีโนลิกs in the medium. Therefore, "adjusting the concentration" means that the concentration will be adjusted accordingly to still be within the desired range which is within the
10 tolerable range for the first microbe and without the tolerable range for the second microbe.
The present inventors have discovered that สารประกอบ (such as สารประกอบฟีโนลิก) present in the ไฮโดรไลเซตประเภทลิกโนเซลลูโลส may function as microbial
15 inhibitors in the method of the การประดิษฐ์นี้. Thus, in one embodiment of the การประดิษฐ์นี้, said at least one microbial growth inhibitor is present in the cultivation medium provided in step (i), such as in the ไฮโดรไลเซตประเภทลิกโนเซลลูโลส of the cultivation medium. The microbial growth inhibitor สารประกอบ can be also added during the cultivation along with the ไฮโดรไลเซตประเภทลิกโนเซลลูโลส, such as in
20 fed-batch cultivation.
According to the การประดิษฐ์นี้ the จุลินทรีย์สะสมน้ำมัน (first microbe) is ทนรับได้ or at least partly ทนรับได้ to the microbial inhibitor present during the cultivation. The second microbe, on the other hand is ไม่สามารถทนรับได้ to the microbial inhibitor or at least
25 less ทนรับได้ to the microbial inhibitor than the first microbe, which allows the concentration of the microbial inhibitor to be adjusted such that the conditions of the จุลินทรีย์สะสมน้ำมัน are favourable over that of the second microbe.
In one embodiment of the การประดิษฐ์นี้, said at least one microbial growth
30 inhibitor is present in said fermentation broth at a concentration within the range of การทนรับได้ of said first microbe and outside the range of การทนรับได้ of said second microbe.
