- provide honest,direct and constructive feedback(ex the sandwich approach)
- look for good:look to catch your athletes doing something right instead of doing something wrong
- avoid sarcasm and put-down (but don’t sugar coat your feedback)
- build character
- use languages that focuses on solutions rather on problems

- describe your feelings:take responsibility for your emotions by saying such thing as “I feel disappointed” as oppose to.”you made me feel disappointed”
- describe your thoughts:let others know what you’re thinking
- describe tangible reasons why the behavior affects you:this help the listener understand how his or her behavior is affecting you
- describe what you want done (be specific)
