The shape of the particles can be presented in many
ways. Scatter diagrams (Fig. 5) show the spread in size of
the longest and shortest axis with respect to increasing
intermediate axis size. Cumulative curves (Fig. 6) show the
distribution of the individual index and their standard
deviation. Cumulative curves of all three indexes for each
sample (Fig. 7) are plotted in one diagram allowing
comparison between the index relationships. Furthermore
the particles can be plotted according to Zingg’s [17]
classification (Fig. 8) The size distribution of all three axial
lengths and the indexes distribution of all three ratios can be
plotted on the same diagram (Fig. 9) giving a total analysis
of the sample
