When ‘spam’ first appeared, nobody worried about it, but now it is out of control: more than 50% of all email messages in the world are junk mail, or spam. Unfortunately, bad people are now using spam to trick people and to get money from them. This is called ‘phishing’. The simplest ‘phishing’ trick is to send an email promising that you will get rich. However, to get this money, you must first send you bank details. Of course, they take money from your bank and you certainly don’t get rich. Therefore, next time you’re online, make sure your anti-virus program is up-to-date and never give anyone your bank details.
