2. Materials and Methods 2.1. Material The cyanobacterium Spirulina strain LEB-18 isolated from the Mangueira Lagoon was used, and Mangueira Lagoon water supplemented with 20% (v/v) Zarrouk (MLW-S) medium [22] was used for maintenance, in- oculum and biomass production. The pilot plant for the production of Spirulina sp. was located near the shore of Mangueira Lagoon (33˚30'13''S; 53˚08'59''W). The mi- croalgae Chlorella pyrenoidosa (Pharma Nostra Co., São Paulo, Brazil) was purchased in powder form. Soy leci- thin (Attivos Magisttrais, Barueri, Brazil), was purchased in powder form.
