The irrigation levels in both experiments were based on actual evapotranspiration (AET). Collected data were statistically analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) for fruit length, diameters, weight, Brix (% of soluble solids), fruit flesh thickness, number of seeds per fruit, seeds, number of fertile seeds per fruit, number of sterile seeds per fruit, total fruit yield, and water use efficiency using the SAS (Software V 8.1). Differences among treatment means were separated according to LSD (P≤0.05). Regression equations were developed to identify the relationship of fruit characteristics and irrigation levels as a function of water application in mm.
