In comparison with the FT-IR spectrums of both DP and paraffin, it can be obviously seen that the FT-IR spectrum of paraffin/DP composite PCM includes all the characteristic bands of both paraffin and DP.
Moreover, there are no new peaks generated in spectrum of paraffin/DP composite PCM. This suggests no chemical reaction happened between paraffin and DP.
However, Table 4 shows that Si–O–Si characteristic band of paraffin/DP composite PCM is slightly shifted in comparison
with that of DP. This could be explained by physical interactions between pore-confined paraffin and DP matrix [4].
FT-IR results shown in Fig. 5 and Table 4 imply good compatibility between paraffin and DP.
