vasculitis of multiple small and median
vessels, with fibrinoid necrosis, neutrophilic exudation
in the vascular wall, thrombosis, elastic fibre
fragmentation and duplication of the inner elastic
layer in the ovarian stroma (Figure 2 and 3). She
was treated with prednisone and azathioprine
(both at 1 mg/kg/day), with complete resolution of
the symptoms. One month later, she developed
herpes zoster infection, and azathioprine was discontinued.
The prednisone dosage was graduated
