modest HDL cholesterol reductions were significant for LF but not for the HPLC group. None of these cholesterol changes were significantly different between the groups. In contrast, the mean reduction in triglycerides was approximately 3-fold greater and strongly significant in the HPLC group (p = 0.0003), whereas
there was only a marginal reduction for the LF group (p =0.10); comparison of the change in triglycerides between groups was also significant (p = 0.03).
