There is an endless stretch of grassland in the heart of the Asian continent
surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Tian Shan and Altai Mountains. Simply
known as “The Steppe,” it is the most expansive steppe in the world.
It is a gateway which connects the ecologies of Europe and Asia, and along with
the African savanna, one of the greatest habitats of a diverse array of grasslanddwelling
animals and birds.
Set to the backdrop of the rugged yet beautiful nature of the steppes of Asia, the
documentary follows the wildlife of the region and tells the story of the region’s
nomadic inhabitants who live in accordance with the laws of the great outdoors,
yet, must sometimes struggle against nature in order to survive.
