Out of the 400 samples of the eight types of
vegetables, 213 were positive for intestinal parasite with
a percentage of 56.25. The parasites encountered
include some species of protozoa, cestode and
nematodes. The protozoa parasites are Entamoeber
histolytica and Entamoeber coli, the cestode is
Hymenolepis nana, and the nematodes are Ascaris
lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, Hookworm and
Strongyloides stercoralis .
