As methanol interferes with some assays, and attending to the usual
consumption of the species, for the antioxidant capacity screening
aqueous extracts were prepared by boiling 1.5 g of dried material for
20 min in 300 mL of water and filtering through a Bu¨chner funnel.
The resulting extracts were then lyophilized. The lyophilized extracts
were kept in a desiccator, in the dark.
