Ppk/Cpk data must be submitted on the sample data sheet from sample taken throughout each build sample must be taken from die, cassette, line, cavity, etc used in production
Please do not be concerned with Tesla Motors Supplier Packaging Requirements (BMS-0000005)”
I communicated with Tesla a lot regarding the packaging this document recommended.
The recommended box size in this document would have increased Tesla’s shipping cost tremendously, as the number of parts able to ship in a container would have been greatly reduced.
Ultimately, the Purchasing Manager advised me to stay with Fujipoly’s current packaging as the packaging engineer could not justify this change.
It is not necessary to advise Tesla of this packaging change.
1) We are already not adhering to the document
2) The parts now ship to CTEMS and not to the Tesla warehouse
3) It would just bring back to the surface that Fujipoly is currently using not using the recommended box in this document.
As long as the same number of parts can ship in a container and the packaging is an improvement, it is OK to just make the change.
If anyone mentions anything, I can discuss it with the Purchasing Manager as he was the one to give me the original permission.
Note: Tesla has never complained about damaged packaging, so the current packaging is also acceptable.
If you need anything else, please let me know
