VI. CONCLUSION
In the present work, a solar thermal driven absorption cooling installation is investigated under the Moroccan climate. Simulations were carried out using TRANSOL 3.0 software. Energy as well as economy indicators were evaluated and discussed. The overall results show that Morocco with its great solar potential is a promising field to the application of solar cooling technologies. It was found that the amount of energy savings is relevant. The payback period according 3 scenarios was computed. In the best of the cases (when the analysis is based on the minimal component costs), the PB is 16 years. The high payback period is the normal consequence of the high initial cost of the thermal components. It should be noted that, the current configuration provides solar water heating as well as space heating which can be seen as additional economic gain. Then if these applications are considered as energy savings, the PB will significantly decrease.
