SUMMARY AND PHOTOS
We have completed our evaluation of the 5CNG-16 assembly returned due to the core tube pulling out of the assembly.
A visual examination of the assembly found the manufacture date to be from 2012. The required warning tags were not present on either assembly, nor were the identification tags present. The CNGG-5 guards were present and pulled up into the correct locationover the bell of the coupling. There was no outward damage observed with the assemblies.
We removed the CNG guard from a coupling and measured the diameter and le gth of the erimped coupling. The crimp specification for 5CNG hose with 58H series couplings is 1.615" +/- .005". The crimp length specification is 2.170"+/-.030".Our measurement results found the diameter and length to measure within the specified parameters for this hose/coupling series combination, measuring 1.612" and 2.165".
The hose construction parameters are proprietary. Our measurement results found the hose to be manufactured within our specifications. The OD measured 1.579", the ID measured 1.035", TW measured .280".
We sectioned a piece of the hose to measure the ID and observe the core tube of the assembly. The one layer of the core tube was observed to have separated from the remaining layer of the core.Other internal observations found bubbles within the core layers, and several areas where there were what appeared to be cracks within the core.
All manufacturing specifications were found to be within their respective parameters.
Parker does not warrant product when there is no manufacturing issue found with either the product,or the assembly parameters. We will hold on to the assemblies for a period of thirty (30) days and then dispose of at our facility. If you would like the product returned to you, please contact me within this time frame with your preferred shipping method, carrier account number and return address.
