As you review these individual goals and objectives for each teacher you are going to observe, you should plan to discuss them with the teacher in the pre-observation conference them in the written report. For example, if one of the instructional goals written in the EOY evaluation for Mr. Bares last year was to “work on improving the use of instructional time in the classroom,” you should plan to review instructional strategies that maximize instructional time during the pre-observation conference and make notations during the observation itself on how quickly the lesson began, how efficiently classroom routines were managed, and how well students moved from one learning activity to another during the course of the 45-minute lesson.
