As a ventilation terminal, FADS has many advantages over the
conventional ventilation system (ducts + diffusers + coating) and
creates a clean, comfort indoor air quality. Most researches mainly
focused on the airflow characteristics near the local region of FADS
within a room. Few studies are concerned about the influence of
FADS configuration on the airflow characteristics. Based on our
previous works, we further numerically study the effect of three
parameters, namely, fiber porosity, fiber diameter and supply air
flow rate on the air velocity and pressure inside FADS. In addition,
the relation between the three parameters and the fan energy consumption
as well as fan noise level is also discussed. The rationality
of numerical methods has been validated by the comparison of
simulation results and experimental measurements. The following
