Figure 7 show several important features of dynamic matrix control. Firstly ,when the steam pressure was increased by 10 % at time 20,the v2 throttling valve started to close, to counter the effect of this increased pressure (and thus temperature) on the syrup brix. The syrup brix gradually returned towards set point of 68°bx from time 40 to 60.then,at time 60, the exhaust steam pressure was again increased by 10% this has a similar effect, in that the syrup brix began to rise. The v2 throttling valve was already almost fully closed, and now encountered an input constraint.
