performance of type C is even better than that of type B.
The flow distribution performance of type C is the most
uniform among the three types. It is found that the effect
of the proposed header configurations on the velocities
distribution in the intersection is remarkable and the
flow nonuniformity (S) has been reduced from 3.47 to
0.71 at Reynolds number of Re ¼ 1000. The optimization
of the header configuration can effectively improve
the flow distribution in the plate-fin heat exchanger.
This improvement has also been verified by measurement,
and expected to be applied in the design of platefin
heat exchanger eventually.
