We realize that simply painting a wall pink will not transform a hyperactive child's room into an oasis of calm. It is an undeniable fact, however that colors can impart a basic atmosphere. Pink and blue, for instance, are said to be quiet, calming colors. Green is the color of nature, and yellow is associated with happiness. Some educators believe that small children who live in completely yellow painted room cry more often than others. But whether or not you believe in the psychology of colors, it is better to avoid overly dark tones in very young children's room. Little ones usually don't like them, and they swallow up a great deal of light.
