Hey Dennis,
I got up this morning to find no water in the house. I thought something was happening last evening when I noticed the water pressure was low. I use to have my own well, but when the house was empty for a few years, I too often came here to work from Michigan and found the well pump was not working. It became too expensive to keep fixing my well, so I hooked up to the Association water, which is also well water. This is the first time that source has failed since I moved back. Hopefully the problem will be fixed today. When you live in the desert, having water is essential. In Michigan, we also had well water, but the problem there was the electricity cutting out after strong storms would blow trees on power lines. Sometimes it would take days to restore power to the neighborhood. So as you can see, we have problems with basic services like other places in the world.
Don’t worry about the sport's thing. I’m hopeful you will make the team, but even if you don’t get to play much during matches, you will have the opportunity to make some friends and to play during practices. Then once school starts, you may find other non-sport activities to get involved in.
Do you have any pets? I have 2 dogs and 2 cats, all are very friendly. The dogs and sometimes the cats will sleep with. Last December when one of my ex-exchange students came for a visit, the dogs wanted to spend the night with him. We had to make sure all the doors going to his room were shut, otherwise they would find a way into his bedroom.
My son is coming tomorrow to spend the week in the house to take care of the pets and water the plants (if I get water!!) while I’m up at the kid’ s camp in the mountains. I won’t have internet up there, so if you write, it will be awhile before I can answer.
When is your school over for this year? Most schools in the US are over this week or next. Many in the East have to go longer this year because of the heavy snow's last winter caused too many days when the schools were closed.
Looks like I will be going on a hike tomorrow in the mountains with a friend. They opened a new trail this week and we are going to try and find it. Should be fun.
Ok got to get moving for today.
Greg
