MANILA — Fifteen passengers of a Philippine Airlines flight from Hawaii were injured after the aircraft hit turbulence on the way to Manila, the company said Friday.
Flight PR101 was four hours away from the Philippine capital when it experienced clear air turbulence, sending some passengers flying off their seats, the flag carrier said.
"The incident unfortunately resulted [in] minor injuries to 15 out of the 132 passengers aboard," the airline said in a statement.
A team of medical personnel, airport officials and Philippine Airlines customers relations officers were on standby at Manila airport when the flight arrived, it said.
"We thought we were going to die," one passenger told ABS-CBN television. "We flew from our seats and hit the ceiling hard.
