2.2. Test and measures
When standing posture was observed, the patient appeared to bear weight equally on both lower extremities, and had greater tibial varus on the left. Pelvis landmarks were level. Gait on a level surface also appeared to be symmetrical. In sitting, patella alta on the left was observed. Active and passive ROM was measured at the knee using a universal goniometer. Left and right knee ROM was full and symmetrical in both flexion and extension. The only dissimilarity occurred when the patient reported mild ‘discomfort’ during ‘overpressure’ of passive left knee flexion ROM. The patient indicated that the area of discomfort was in the front of the knee.
