Level 1 describes teachers who were not well informed about the Bangalore project’s methodology, did not fully understand how to use it, and did not understand what its effects on learners and teachers might be. Level 2 describes teachers who were well informed about the methodology implications of the project and whose use of task based language teaching procedures was relatively stable. Level 3 describes teachers who were confident enough of their mastery of project principles that they were ready to modify its basic precept.
