Interviews usually produce rich and detailed data that can often be very complex when you come to analyse the responses. This needs to be factored in to the research design or you run the risk of being unable to make the best use of data simply because you do not have the time or the facilities to give it the attention that it needs. Considerable thought and preparation is needed when using interviews as well as an understanding of your ability and experience. Although potentially a rich source of data, there are a number of factors that can have an impact on the quality of the data.
