It can be seen that after ignition, there is a sudden rise in the
temperature for all the samples. However, there is a variation in the
magnitude of rise in temperature for the different fuels. The highest
temperatures were attained by chicken manure and miscanthus.
On the other hand, straw pellets did not reach high temperatures in comparison. It is evident that the calorific value is directly proportional
to the maximum temperature within the bomb calorimeter
as shown in Table 2. The temperature of combustion in turn
is related to the composition of the biomass. It is noticeable that
there is a good agreement between the present study and some
published data.
