The amounts of lycopene, total phenolics and flavonoids of the investigated watermelon cvs within different sampling areas are shown in Table 1. The data, expressed on a fresh weight (fw) basis, show statistically significant differences (P < 0.01) among the watermelon cvs in the amount of lycopene, total phenolics and flavonoids and in their distribution within the fruit flesh.
