Measured borate concentration in the wood cubes ranged
from 0.01 to 15.0 percent DOT. The calibration model was
able to provide a good correlation (r2 = 0.96) between the
measured and predicted borate content of the samples (Fig. 1).
The slope of the regression was 0.96 and the root mean
squared error of the calibration (RMSEC) was 0.92 percent.
The calibration model provided reasonable predictions of the
borate content of the validation sample set (root mean squared
error of prediction [RMSEP] = 2.12 percent, r2 = 0.86; Figure
1)
