1. Proposal of questions
Even though the relations and mutual contact between north Korea and Communist China during the period from August 15, 1945, when the Korean peninsula liberated from Japan, to June 25, when the Korean War broke out have been attracting considerable concern from scholars who specialize in the diplomatic between the two countries, many parts of it are still not correctly uncovered and grasped on account of a lack of related materials. To grasp correctly the contact and relations between north Korea and Communist china during this period will, however, decisively help us in our task of understanding the roles of the two as to the origin of the conflict, and, furthermore, clarifying the nature of the hostilities. With these questions in mind, this writer will, in this paper, try to examine the north Korea-Communist China relations during the period from the aspect of their contact in the military, diplomatic, economic, and cultural areas and will attempt to infer the role and attitude of the Chinese in the course of planning and implementing the war.
