Chapter 1 We decide to go on holiday
George, William Samuel Harris, Jerome, and Montmorency were sitting in the room and talking about how bad they were ill.
Jerome went to the British Museum Library to read about his little problem. He found that there was only one disease which he did not have.
Harris suggested that ‘If you want a rest and a change, then the sea is best’
Jerome said that this was a terrible idea. A sea trip is fine if you are going to for a month or two – but not for a week.
George said ‘Well, Let’s go up the river’
The only one who did not like this idea was Montmorency.
