Finally, the countries of the region are particularly pressurised to set up the
institutions supporting the intellectual property system often within a very short time
frame. Again, specialisation has been the preferred solution and attempts have been
made to separate intellectual property to some extent from the general administrative
and legal system. Examples for this development are the specialised intellectual
property and international trade court in Thailand, which has been followed by semispecialised
commercial courts in Indonesia and the Philippines, while other countries
are considering the introduction of a more specialised court system. At the
administrative level, the IP administration is now in some countries semi-privatised
with the aim of increasing efficiency and creating more attractive salary levels.
